Medical Director

David Meurer, MD, UF College of Medicine emergency physician is medical director of the ShandsCair flight program. Dr. Meurer was selected as the 2007 Air Medical Physician Association Medical Director of the Year out of more than 400 flight teams throughout the United States and internationally.

Meurer, an emergency medicine physician at Shands at UF since 1993, has an extensive history in emergency medicine-as an EMT, paramedic and physician-and has been the medical director of the ShandsCair flight team since 2003.
