Mini-grants of $1,000 are available to nurses with at least two years of satisfactory experience at Shands at the University of Florida. The goal is to help stimulate nursing research at the staff RN level, by promoting an accessible source of in-house funding.

Grant applications deadline in August of each calendar year, with research proposals reviewed against the following criteria:

• potential impact to nursing practice or work environment
• potential positive impact to patient outcomes
• potential positive impact to quality patient care
• ability to complete the research within 6-12 months

Grants are awarded by the Vice President for Nursing and Patient Care. All grantees will also be assigned a mentor selected by the Nursing Research Council.
